History Not much is really know about Jean's life until high school, when she met her husband, John Yocum. The two teenagers were instantly attracted to each other, and were nearly inseparable for the four years of high school, and even took the SFA entrance exam together. The two were engaged when they arrived at the Academy, and even found time for each other between the various classes they had. While John studied Engineering, Jean focused on medical classes, having always wanted to be a doctor. She graduated in the top 5 of her class, the only 'down' mark was her performance on the Kobyashi Maru, though most doctors usually don't do well on the no-win scenario due to the fighting that goes against their oaths as doctors to do no harm. After graduation, Jean found herself on the USS Constitution, under the command of Captain Tiyo Soya. She kept up a long distance relationship with her fiancee, and was ready to help him heal emotionally when John came aboard the Constituion just a month after the disaster at Wolf 359. During her 10 years on the Constitution, Jean worked her way up steadily to the rank of Lt Commander, and was the assistant CMO for the Galaxy-class vessel during the last few years there. She also managed to learn how to be a mother while balancing that with her career when she gave birth to Stephanie in 2368. In 2375, Jean was the first one offered the CMO spot on the USS Shadowcat, mostly because the CO had specifically asked for his wife. She's turned down numerous promotions to full Commander because she doesn't want to take the Bridge Officer test.
