History Right out of the Academy, Brightmoon was assigned as a medial officer on the USS Mirage. She served there for two years before the ship was hit by a mysterious virus that mutated and killed several of the crewmembers. The USS Cruiser under the command of Captain Paul Muad'dib came to the ship's rescue but was too late to save most of the crew. Serenity was taken and cared for in the Cruiser's medical bay. When the time came to be re-assigned she opted to remain on the Cruiser because it needed a counselor, and the captain seemed quite determined to push her off the ship. Serena remained on the Cruiser for quite some time, slowly achieving her current rank. On board she developed a relationship with the Captain, whom was reluctant to admit he had feelings for her and spent several missions trying to make her miserable enough to take a different assignment. She came to visit the station T'Plana Hath with her father Tony Thunderwhiskers shortly before the USS Cruiser was declared for decommissioning. Discovering several people that needed her help, Serena remained on the station and took on counselling duties.
