Description Occasionally comes across as the "playboy" type, though that image has somewhat waned over the years with the arrival of his niece, Aimee. Coyan enjoys people in general and those who meet him tend to pick up on that right away. He is a fair employer, but tough on those who work for him and with good reason. He is slow to judge others and prefers to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, beware getting on his bad side. Though he may have a long fuse, he also has a hard time forgiving those who cross him.

History Coyan spent a portion of his youth in prison. He is an ex-con with a troubled past who was given a second chance at a crucial time in his life. As a result, many of his employees are ex-cons whom he is trying to extend the same opportunity to straighten up their lives. Coyan's brother played a hand in helping him get his feet on the right path, but Coyan was still suprised to find himself named Aimee's guardian in his brother and sister-in-law's will. Having a soft spot in his heart for his young niece, he tends to give her whatever she wants. Fortunately, eight years of living with responsible parents has kept Aimee from being spoiled by his indulgences. Needless to say, Coyan is very protective of Aimee...

Coyan has spent the last eight years of his life spreading his business among Starfleet's Starbases. As soon as he establishes one business and sets up proper management, he moves on to start another business elsewhere. He owns 16 establishments to date and is worth several billion. At this point in time he could retire and live the rest of his life in high style and still leave his possible future descendants rather well off, but Coyan is too restless an individual not to have something to keep him busy.
