Description
Akoval is easy going as long as everything is within his expectations, but can be very demanding in times of conflict. He has proven his loyalty to the Federation and his commandants on various occasions. When requires he functions as ordered rather than caring about his own safety.
Due to his adoptive parents being Human, his behaviour resembles those of Humans, rather than Andorians.
He has an interest in art, both Federation and alien and keeps sculptures of various origin in his quarters.

History
Akoval was born on the Federation Trade Station T4 and adopted as only child of human peace activist Jane Adams (also human) and news reporter Nick Rhodan. He grew up travelling Federation space with his parents.
At the Age of 18, he decided to join the Federation Marine Corps, what lead to the end of contact with his mother.
After a brief time as Platoon commandant, he was assigned as Company XO to a detachment on the USS Thunder, but never saw much action during his time there.
During a holiday on Earth, he met Lt Cor, a bajoran security officer of Starbase 3. They started a relationship and he arranged to be reassigned to Starbase 3, where the two served together and eventually moved together. After two years together, they split up, but both remained on the station. He continued his service and was promoted for his swift reaction to a demonstration against the installation of an entire regiment of Marines on the station. Despite all odds, the demonstration was dissolved and the leaders of the group arrested without firing a single phaser.
In early 2381, he applied for advanced Intelligence training and was accepted into the program and recruited by the Special Defense Agency.
After completion of his training, he requested to be assigned to a field mission on Aldea and was tasked with the Infiltration of the terrorist group Red Sigma. For the successfully completion of this mission, he was surgically altered to blend in with Aldeans and took the name Tamin.
At the end of the assignment, he met Siktor Cayden, a former member of the group, who had been forced to assist in the destabilisation of Red Sigma by Brigadier Misato Murphy, the director of SDA.
When Cayden eventually decided to join the Federation, the Brigadier arranged that Akoval was assigned to the same vessel to keep an eye on her and ensure she stays in line.

Service Record
Education
Despite of his mothers attempts to pursue him to join her cause and lead a life as activist against all military organisations, he completed the Federation Service Academy. His record shows a devotion to his education, but also the occasional sign of rebellion against discipline and formalities.
While remaining with the Corps, he trained as Intelligence Agent.
His spoken languages include English and Andorian, both are interpreted by the Universal Translator as Federation Standard, Bajoran and, among several less fluent languages of the quadrant, Latin.
