History Born on a working farm in a small town in North Carolina, Earth. He grew up with Ryan Steele, Starfighter's XO, and they joined Starfleet together, he with the Marines and Steele with the Fleet. Despite their different paths, they kept in touch. His third tour was long-term mission in the Delta Quadrant on the USS Grant. There he elicited information from the Virridians and the Ventaxians and from the Bolarian Confederacy. During Voyager's lost years, Janeway made first contact with the Bolarians. Following up, Matt forged a formal alliance between the Federation and the Bolarians similiar to that with the Klingon Empire. Upon returning to the Alpha Quadrant, Matt was reassigned to the USS Starfighter.
