Starbase T'Plana Hath
Starbase T'Plana-Hath, named for an ancient Vulcan matron, was originally designated as Deep Space 12. The station, long home to a deep space branch of the Vulcan Science Academy, saw various nicknames over the years, but as a point of honor, and as a show of Starfleet's commitment to peace and scientific exploration, the station's original designation was dropped, and the new name of T'Plana-Hath was dedicated, in keeping with other such commemorative namings such as Starbase Earhart.
The starbase now acts as the headquarters for the 5th fleet. Heavily defended, the base is quite capable of handling herself in the case of attack by hostile species. She has endured assaults by many over the years, including most recently, the Tholians.
While the starbase had previously acted as a port for resupply of local vessels, it is now home to something less familiar. It is now a port of diplomacy as well. In light of events that have occured in Romulan space under the short-lived regime of Preator Shinzon, an opportunity has arisen to pursue closer diplomatic relations with the Romulan Empire. Naturally, no such efforts could be pursued without the Klingon Empire taking notice. Discussions with the Romulans have, by necessity, included the Klingons.
The starbase has been selected for the location of a Federation-based diplomatic effort between all three races, and hosts a delegation from each government aboard. Given the lack of trust each side has for the other, meetings between these "delegations" are very rarely calm. Each government insisted on allowing a small group of their troops to accompany their ambassadors, "for security purposes". Life on the station just got very interesting....

| Shuttlebays Spacedock |
The new Stardock class type IV is a modified version of the Starstation class. Designers sought to accommodate the larger number of ships and even more so, the larger size of ships serving in Starfleet. The redesigned Starbays can hold 15-20 large Explorer/Battleships altogether, making Starbase T’Planna-Hath a formidable station and more than sufficent headquarters for Thunder Fleet. The Starbase design also has almost 200 different hangers, allowing for well over a thousand fighters for storage. However, the usual operating number of fighters and runabouts amount to about 300. |
